Amalfi Mental Health is a psychiatric practice that provides mental health services for individuals 18 and up. We provide individualized care with both medication management and therapy to meet the needs of our patients.
We offer a range of evidence-based therapies, including medication management, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and various types of psychotherapy. We also specialize in the connection between mental and physical health. We often treat the following conditions:
Although AMH treats a variety of conditions and diagnoses including Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), our providers will not be prescribing any stimulant medications such as Adderall at this time.
AMH will not be participating in filing Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) or disability paperwork. If you need FMLA paperwork, it will need to be completed by your family physician.
AMH does not provide any medication in office or on site including medication samples, long acting injectables (LIA), ketamine infusions (including Spravato or nasal esketamine), or Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). If additional services are needed, AMH will refer to another office in order to help meet your needs.
If a provider feels that they are not equipped to treat your needs, we will let you know and help you find a healthcare provider that may be a better fit.
Amalfi Mental Health (AMH) does have a partnership with Reconstructive Surgical Arts (RSA). Although we work very closely with RSA, that does not guarantee a letter of gender-affirming services.
It typically takes roughly 1-3 sessions to ensure all criteria is reviewed prior to receiving a letter for gender-affirming care.
Please note, patients are not guaranteed a letter for gender-affirmation care. It is up to the provider/practitioner of AMH in order to determine who is appropriate for gender-affirming services. If a provider does not provide a letter for you, please note we will work with you on how to continue to prepare for affirming services.
The sessions should be covered by your insurance, if in network. If your provider feels comfortable writing a letter, the fee for the letter is $100. It may take up to 2 weeks after your last session to receive your letter.
If interested in psychiatry/mental health services for gender affirming care, please schedule an intake appointment on our link provided on the home page of our website.
Amalfi Mental Health (AMH) is happy to see patients both in person and via telemedicine. Although our providers feel that they are able to create a stronger bond and stronger patient relationship with in person visits, we understand that everyone's schedules are different. We also understand that some patients may be in various geographical locations are are unable to come in to the office for an in-person visit.
We are happy to accommodate telemedicine services per request, as the provider seems appropriate.
Please note: if patients are prescribed controlled substances, the patient must be seen in person a minimum of once per year in order to continue those medications.
To schedule your initial appointment, we ask that you click the "Schedule Appointment" tab on the home page on our website 'amalfihealth.com'. Once the request is submitted, you will be prompted to complete intake paperwork and sign consent forms. You will be sent a link to schedule within 24 hours after submitting your paperwork and consent for treatment.
This process allows us to make sure we offer the services you need. In addition, this allows us to spend your first appointment talking about you rather than filling out forms.
For a new intake or new patient appointment, we ask that you have all of your paper work completed and schedule at least 3 days in advance. This allows our team to submit the correct paperwork through your insurance company to avoid any unnecessary delays in care.
Follow-up appointments may be scheduled within 24 hours.
If you need to change or reschedule your appointment, please click on 'manage my bookings' link on our booking website: https://amalfimh.intakeq.com/booking.
You can also reach the link by clicking 'schedule my appointment' tab on the home page.
At Amalfi Mental Health (AMH), we understand that unexpected life circumstances happen. As a small business, we will ensure all patients receive adequate appointment reminders on several occasions prior to each scheduled appointment.
Please note, AMH does have a cancellation policy. We kindly ask that if you need to cancel the appointment, that the cancellation is made 24 hours prior to the appointment to avoid any unnecessary fees. If you cancel within 24 hours or do not provide notice, you will be charged a $50 cancellation fee.
With a third cancellation within 24 hours or do not provide notice, you will be charged a cancellation fee and may be dismissed from the practice.
Please note that all prescription refill requests and patient messages will be handled within 48 hours.
If there is an emergency, please message your provider directly through the patient portal. With any suicidal or homicidal thoughts/behavior, psychosis, severe physical symptoms or emergency, please call 911 and proceed to the nearest emergency room.

Both Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (Psych NP) and Psychiatrists specialize in providing mental health treatment, and both can prescribe medication as needed. Their job duties are largely the same, but they have different backgrounds. A Psychiatrist is a Medical Doctor (MD) who has graduated from medical school and completed a Residency, while a Psychiatric NP is an Advanced Practice Nurse who has completed a Masters or Doctorate in Psychiatric Mental Health. Both have expertise in pharmacology.
Psychologists also have advanced degrees and specialize in mental health treatment and different types of therapy, but do not have the focused medical background and cannot prescribe medications.
Social workers, Licensed Professional Counselors, and Licensed Therapists also provide various forms of mental health treatment and support. They have received specialized training, but may not have an advanced degree.
