Cherliesa “Liesa” Boyd is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 12 years of healthcare experience. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from The Ohio State University and holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Oklahoma State University. Her background includes outpatient psychiatry, telehealth, inpatient behavioral health, and older adult care.
Liesa has experience working with children of all ages. At Amalfi, she provides medication management for patients ages 12 and older, as well as therapy. Her approach considers each person’s mental health, physical health, relationships, and life experiences.
Liesa strives to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where patients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their care. She collaborates with patients to develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that reflect their needs and goals. Through medication management, therapy, and education, she helps patients build coping skills, manage symptoms, navigate life’s challenges, and improve their overall well-being.

Liesa was a recipient of the Behavioral Health Workforce and Education Training Grant. This collaborative, interprofessional program brought together graduate students from The Ohio State University’s College of Social Work, College of Nursing, and College of Education and Human Ecology’s School Psychology Program. The program prepared future behavioral healthcare professionals to provide culturally responsive services to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) youth and their families.
